For many people, having a pool is a requirement, either because they reside in hot and humid locations, or because they just enjoy the water. If a person is lucky enough to have a pool in their back yard, and that pool is big enough, they may decide to have a diving board put on the side for more enjoyment.
Diving board facts
There are two basic types or kinds of diving boards;
- Commercial – These boards are made especially for large community swimming pools located in cities, parks, hotels, etc.
- Residential – The diving boards are usually much smaller and are used by most homeowners on their pools.
Commercial diving boards many times include boards of various sizes and often include several different boards in one pool. Many times, the first type of diving board installed is one that sits on the ground level, right above the water. This board is used most often by those who are a little nervous about jumping off a board, and sometimes by those who want to sit on the board and dangle their feet in the water.
